Requirements for Short Stay Visa to France (Less than 90 Days) Domestic Workers – Art 20
Note: Dear applicants, it is highly advisable to start the procedure as early as possible before the intended departure (at least 5 weeks).
  • The Cerfa No. 13647*02: In case of approval by the competent authorities, this document (Temporary Work Permit APT) is an indication for French authorities of the relation between the employee and his/her employer during their stay in France. It must be in accordance with the current French labor law (Article R.341-1).
    • The form must be filled out in French and signed by both the employer and the employee.
    • The form must be sent by e-mail to the local labor department in France (e-mail addresses can be found here). The subject should be: the employee and the employer names.
    • The DDTEFP will stamp and sign the Cerfa No. 13647*02 and return it by e-mail.
  • 2 copies of the approved Cerfa No. 13647*02.
  • Employment contract dated and signed by the employer and the employee.
  • Obligation letter for registration at (URSAFF) Union contributions to social security and family allowances. It must be completely filled, dated and signed by the employer. This letter holds the employer responsible to pay the demanded contribution to the URSAFF.
  • Undertaking letter dated and signed by the employer (to take full responsibility for travel expenses and to insure the return of the employee to Kuwait).
  • A clear copy of the employer’s passport and civil Id.
  • Visa Application Form with 2 photos (3, 5 cm x 4, 5 cm a white background and with a straight pose).
  • Passport of the employee valid for at least 6 months from the return date + copy , with at least 2 free pages.
  • Civil ID valid at least 3 months, after visa expiry date.
  • Copy of previous Schengen visas.
  • Confirmed hotel booking for the employer and the employee or proof of property in France. Employee (with the same dates contained in a file request to obtain the work permit).
  • Copy of Air Ticket or Booking printout for the employer and the employee.
  • Travel health insurance covering the period of the intended stay (minimum coverage €30,000).

Note: The consular services reserve the right to ask for any additional supporting documents.

Important Note
  1. This type of visa allows traveling over the schengen area but does not allow working in other schengen member states other than France.
  2. Make contact with the suitable DDTEFP (according to home address) in order to get delivered the temporary work permit. The presentation of the passport of the employee with the entry stamp on French territory may be required by the DDTEFP.
  3. The employee’s salary can’t be lower than the SMIC ( The minimum wage)
  4. It is convenient during the first 8 days in France to Proceed to the registration of the employee(s) to the competent URSAFF office according to the place of residence. In case of hotel stay, no matter which department, the URSAFF of the department of BAS-RHIN SCHILTIGHEIN (près de Strasbourg) 16, rue Contades, tel 08 20 39 56 70, should be contacted.
  5. Upon arrival to Kuwait, It is convenient to present to our center the employee’s passport with Kuwait’s entry stamp. The failure to present this request may deny the employer any future visa request for employees.
